The number of sessions needed depends on you as the individual. Most people find it helpful to book regular weekly appointments as this enables the therapeutic relationship to gain momentum and trust. Ideally at the same time and day.

In our first meeting, we may discuss what it is you want from counselling or psychotherapy and how we might work together towards this goal.
In order for effective results, I would suggest an initial commitment of at least 8 sessions. These are weekly and at regular times. I appreciate flexibility may be needed around work and family commitments.
Full fees are charged for all arranged sessions, including cancellations, unless we are able to reschedule. You are welcome to pay by cheque, cash or Paypal, either in advance or at the time of the session.
In addition, I would like to be informed if you are using alcohol, prescribed or non-prescribed drugs. Also, please do let me know of other therapeutic work you have done previously.
I believe therapy should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. I have a limited number of slots for low income and unwaged. Please contact me to discuss this.
Missed sessions and cancellation – renegotiation
I require at least 24 hours’ notice but am grateful for as much notice as possible. Fees are payable if no notice is given to cancel an appointment as it means I am unable to offer your appointment to another client. If your appointment is on a Monday, notice to cancel must be given by the preceding Friday.
